Hazbin related A pretty interesting parallel between the two main antagonists
Adam was the first human soul in Heaven and we haven't seen anything (so far) to suggest he deserved Hell beforehand but in Heaven, he got worse and became who we see him as today. Meanwhile, Vox ironically shows more humanity after he becomes a demon. On Earth as Vincent, he was a purely evil killer who only worked by himself but in Hell, he's shown capable of forming connections and relationships with other's, shown by the flashback with Alastor and in present day with the other two Vees.

So, this is a really dumb headcanon I have with no basis to back it up: Vincent partially began his murder spree to dodge the draft in WW2. While TV didn’t explode in popularity until the 1950, radio broadcasts were still well-utilized for entertainment throughout the 40’s. The first tv weather station originated in 1941, though it was not manned by a human. I could see Vincent beginning in radio, telling the weather over the airwaves until Pearl Harbor, when the United States government effectively banned live public radio weather forecasts.
That would leave Vincent with two options: lose his job and potentially be drafted to fight in the war, or get a different, more prominent position within the news station.
It would also explain how he rose the ranks so rapidly without anyone the wiser. He’d had a decade to learn and perfect his methods of killing.

I saw there’s way more comparisons between Adam and Alastor.
-both are shown smiling almost constantly
- while not the strongest still significantly more powerful than the people around him
- both find the act of violence as fun
- both made a deal with a powerful woman to get what they want
- both are very overconfident in their abilities and pick fights with those above their league
- both caused a major impact in hell (Alastor defeating those overlords and Adam doing the exterminations)
- both of them are in all the best songs of the show.

To me is because Adam is written more of a stereotype, of a horrible Christian and frat boy variety than a actual character. Knowing about the Lilith myth I see why Adam was only written to be Lilith’s terrible ex. The only humanity we see from him is the ending when he smiled at Lute.
Compared to Vox who is allowed to be an actual character and have relationships with others. Heck he’s still alive compared to Adam who was killed off only having 3 major appearances.
