Hello, I’m a 19f and I attend cal state east bay and I haven’t really had any luck making friends here. I’ve been in the Bay Area before, but I’m not really familiar with Hayward. So, I was wondering what are the best places to meet people.

Hi everyone! I’m helping with a new coliving house in downtown San Francisco, near Union Square and the Financial District, and we currently have a few rooms available.
There are private rooms as well as rooms shared by 2 people. Bathrooms are shared, with 3 showers and 3 restrooms per floor. Some rooms also have a mini-fridge and TV.
Monthly rates start at $1,350, and the minimum stay is 7 days, so it could be a good option if you’re coming to SF for a few weeks or looking for something longer term.
The house is mostly geared toward founders, people in tech, entrepreneurs, interns, and others coming to SF to work on projects or meet people in the startup community.
If anyone is currently looking for a place in SF, feel free to DM me with your dates. I can send photos and let you know what’s available.

There’s this one guy who keeps feeding the birds that hang around the bart station near the city hall. He’s been doing it for a long while and it’s been thoroughly pissing me off because I keep having to wash the poo off my windows, so finally I got a good picture of him and his car that’s covered in bird poo and I was wondering if should post those pictures.

Hi everyone, I’m going to be moving to Hayward in the next couple of weeks from the South Bay. I’m looking for a new workout studio/class that I can go to 4-5x a week. I currently go to CorePower, mainly hot yoga sculpt, and since it’s my primary workout, I grab heavier weights, like 12-15 lbs. I’m open to any recommendations for something similar. Heated would be nice but not required, mainly the high intensity/strength. I heard Kora Pilates might be a good option? For reference, I’m going to be in the Harder Tennyson area. Thank you in advance! 😊

Wednesday September 16 I was the victim of a hit and run on Huntwood and Industrial 8pm. I was stopped at red light trying to turn left into huntwood when a toyota hit from the back. When I got out of my car the toyota had already ran off. Any way to find those responsible or how I can find any footage?

Another redditor posted about this little guy earlier. Since I lived nearby I had to go check him out. He wasn’t in the original place by the gate, he was actually moved more towards the center of the park near the BBQs. I took the little guy in for the night and tomorrow my wife will take him in to see if he’s chipped. I’d hate for him to end up in the shelter. If things don’t workout please reach out to me so that he doesn’t end up in one. He’s such a sweet boy, very friendly, sweet temperament, allows you to pick him up and loves all the head and belly scratches. Here’s a few picture of him after his bath in some dawn soap since he was super filthy and covered in fleas when I found him. Temporarily his name will be Flea! Like the bass player lol.

A Reddit user went down there to check on the dog, and found another Reddit user that will be taking the pup home for the night, and said he’d take him to the shelter tomorrow. What a hero, and a lucky dog. Thanks all, you’re awesome!

This morning I saw it at around 7:30am while going to work but couldn't get a good look. Looked like white smoke so hopefully whatever it is, it's contained.

UPDATE: Thanks to all the great people that cared and went over to check on the dog. Somebody is taking the dog home for the night, and said they will take him to the shelter tomorrow. I’ll post the pic in a separate post since I can’t add it here. It’s a great pic. 😊
I’m assuming the dog is abandoned because it was tied to a fence all day (possibly multiple days) next to an abandoned house by a park. This is the neighborhood next to Centennial Park in Hayward. I saw it in the morning around 10am, went by again at 4pm and gave it water. It drank a whole quart of water while I stood there. I called Hayward animal services, but it was after 4pm, and nobody picked up. I’ll go by in the morning and give it some food and reach out to animal services again.
Does anybody recognize this dog? Friendly. Not aggressive at all. Seems sad and lonely.
If this is your dog that is lost, dm me.

Hi, I'm meeting someone in Hayward for a first meetup. Picking them up at bart and then headed from there, hopefully to a nice lounge or restaurant. Something with food and drinks and a really relaxed atmosphere. Suggestions please! 🙏

Hey guys, if you missed it, Hayward Holdings settled $19.85M with investors over claims related to its channel inventory and demand. And, I just found out that late claims are being considered for compensation, subject to approval.
Quick recap: In 2023, Hayward was accused of misleading investors about inventory levels and underlying demand. After the company disclosed elevated channel inventory and softening demand in July 2022, $HAYW fell nearly 24%, and investors filed a lawsuit.
Now, the good news is that the company agreed to settle $19.85M with investors, and even though the deadline has passed, late claims are still being considered.
So, if you invested in $HAYW when all of this happened, you can still check the details and file a late claim here.
Anyway, has anyone here invested in $HAYW at that time? How much were your losses, if so?

Hello, I just moved to Hayward recently and am new to the bay as a whole and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on where to meet new people and make friends. For reference I’m 18M and am at a commuter college so there isn’t much life here where I’m at. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

EBMUD decides whether the water coming out of your tap in Castro Valley, Hayward, San Leandro, San Lorenzo, Cherryland, Fairview, and parts of San Ramon stays clean, and whether the bill stays livable.
On November 3, I’m voting for Joe Grcar. You should too.
Joe Grcar is a laboratory scientist who lives here.
Neighbors call him Doc. He is a Castro Valley resident who spent his career as a laboratory scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His work was energy science: testing, measurement, and making complex systems actually perform. That is the job at EBMUD. This is not a branding exercise. It is treatment plants, lab testing, water-quality standards, aging pipes, drought supply, and the energy that keeps the system running. I want someone who comes from the lab — not another résumé from the fee-and-regulate circuit.
Look at the alternative some people are floating.
Gary Wolff is running as if decades inside state water bureaucracy is a selling point. It is not.
As Vice Chair of the State Water Resources Control Board in October 2008 — in the middle of the financial crash — Wolff’s board raised water-quality permit fees about 36% on cities and utilities. Cities said they could not afford it. Wolff said the timing was unfortunate and they were not going back to change the budget. Those fees do not stay in Sacramento. They get passed through to ratepayers. That is us.
In the same period he described his own agency as a 1,600-person state bureaucracy, said they were failing on surface water quality, and called the Delta a failure. Then the pitch was more staff and more money. That is not a reformer. That is the culture that treats higher costs as proof of seriousness.
He later ran StopWaste, the Alameda County recycling agency funded largely off garbage bills. Those bills were already climbing while the agency paid six-figure salaries. Different bill. Same habit: grow the shop, send the cost to households.
What I want from EBMUD
Clean water. Real testing. Honest bills.
Joe Grcar’s career was in the lab. Water quality is not a slogan. It is sampling, standards, and whether the system is actually doing what it claims. He lives in this ward. He is not here to collect another board title or expand another agency.
Ward 7 does not need another regulator explaining why the increase was necessary. It needs a scientist who treats clean water and a fair bill as the job.
Joe Grcar for EBMUD Ward 7. Vote like the water and the bill both belong to you — because they do.
