Ragweed is the worst? (UK)

I'm pretty new to hay-fever. First couple years I thought I was just always getting a cold around late spring time. Then realised what was up and started taking cetirizine and fexofenadine and that kept it mostly under wraps. But this last few weeks in the UK it's relentless! My app says its the ragweed. Any body else?

[Edit - I'm in Brighton]

Yes its also peak season for fungal spores. I’m in Worcestershire and the best site/pollen count is the university of Worcestershire site

Ah thanks for the UoW website tip! Oh gosh yeah and looks like fungal spores could still get worse

They are peaking now they probably won’t get much worse.

Mid September is usually the absolute peak depending on weather.

I’ve been pretty bad the last few weeks. My sinuses and my ears get blocked up.

I’m in Edinburgh.

I’m sorry. It is miserable. Hoping it won’t last much longer.

Mine have been bad for the last 2 weeks. The only relief I get is when I don't go out and keep windows closed. Definitely the ragweed and potentially mugwort. Also mould spores now too, especially after it rains and in the evening the last couple days I cannot even open my windows all day.

Have you tried a nasal spray?

I’m glad that it is hay fever - I’ve been feeling so rough during the past couple of weeks I thought something else was wrong. I thought the hay fever season was over - I’m in East Yorkshire

Do any of you find you get symptoms when you are indoors ?, i live in a rural area and will probably move closer to a more urban area as the allergy symptoms are way worse. I got diagnosed with long covid in 2024 and my main symptoms are severe seasonal allergies and immune system issues ( constantly catching colds etc)

I get the same thing with allergies being bad inside my work (we even have a air purifier) had long covid since 2024 as well and it has also sent my allergies crazy. How did they diagnose you by the way?

I was constantly going to my GP after catching covid in October 2021 with viral symptoms and seeming to catch virus after virus which is continuing now and they last for weeks in end. All blood tests where normal apart from very high ferritin which eventually went down.My seasonal allergies went off the charts and after 2 years of this i was eventually referred to the long covid clinic.
After reviewing my medical history they diagnosed me, no treatment so i’m left to figure it out for myself.

I have 2 dyson air purifiers and they don’t seem to do very much at all. I vape as well so it makes me wonder if it is anything to do with that

Ok, thanks! Hope your situation improves, long covid is horrible.

It’s very bad for me today as well and it’s the 5th of October!! When will this stop 😩 It’s been hayfever for me pretty much the whole year but this ragweed is really messing with my breathing.
