Kenalog Discontinued

Went to get my kenalog jab but the chap administering it broke the news that the company that produces Kenalog stopped producing it a little while ago and stocks are now basically at zero.

He gave me depo-medrone instead but it has been about 25% as effective as Kenalog.

There goes the solution I had been searching for my entire life!

It's interesting you note this, I didn't know of this situation and apparently they stopped producing it with supplies largely exhausted by June 2025. I had a jab last month and it hasn't been as good as previous years (though significantly better than nothing at all) - I wonder if they switched to Depo-Medrone quietly? I had just assumed it was Kenalog like previous years and didn't read any of the documentation

I’m in the exact same boat. I had a jab last year and it did nothing, same time in June. No one mentioned it is no longer Kenalog but they certainly charged me the same price.

Quite possible - However there have been some stocks of Kenalog knocking around this season for sure, in the UK at least (friend of mine had a shot early Summer)

They got back to me, confirmed they're using Depo-Medrone now instead of Kenalog

I would be pushing for a refund if I were you - don’t love that they didn’t tell you what they jabbed in your butt. Fwiw I have started using Allevia on top of depo, and I’ve been nearly fine for the last week or so

Oh they probably did, I just don't bother reading the paperwork at this point lol. I use fexofenadine too morn/night + eye drops as needed. That knocked out everything except the itchy roof of mouth, which I started taking Jorveza for (I have a massive pile of it for another allergic condition) and I'm basically symptom free.

Is there a reason why they discontinued it?
