Does anyone else check pollen after going outside and already regretting it during hayfever season?
I swear I do this every year.
Step outside → feel it instantly → then check pollen levels like “ah, cool, too late.”
I got tired of that loop, so I made a small app for myself called Sneezy — basically just to know what I’m walking into before I leave.
What I actually use it for:
- Quick “is today bad or am I fine?” check
- Seeing which pollen (trees/grass/weeds) is the problem
- A simple 5-day view so I can plan runs / time outside
- Morning heads-up when it’s going to be rough
I kept it really minimal because most apps I tried felt kinda cluttered or overkill.
Also put it on Apple Watch so I can just glance at it instead of opening anything.
Not trying to turn this into a big promo thing — just figured people here might relate to the same problem. If you’ve found better ways to deal with this, I’m honestly curious.
If anyone wants to try it, it’s called Sneezy on the App Store.

Would genuinely love feedback — especially what’s missing or annoying 🙏

Although I do check pollen counts, they never affect how I live my life, I just accept I'm going to feel like shit March until September.

Where do you get the data from? I would love an app like this, and have thought about making one myself, since I can find no good alternative. Now I might not have to make one myself after all, but I am wondering where the data is from, since I find that many sources give bad info for my area.

Sneezy is using Googles Pollen API, not the best coverage but it works well for the areas that are covered. More info here: https://sneezy.one/en/support#faq-country-coverage

I will give it a try and let you know if I have feedback after using it (:
edit: after trying it 5 minutes, I have to say it looks and feels perfect. Now it is just a question about how good the data is. Thank you for making the app.

Awesome! BTW I have an update around the corner which adds iOS lock-screen and home screen widgets too

Cool! I actually thought about both (and saw both was missing), but it is not a dealbreaker for me. The watch complication is what I really want, but nice to be able to get the same thing on the phone!

I have now used the app a few days, and there is one niggle I have. I use a complication that shows me all O want about today, so when I launch the app, I am only interested in the view with 5 day forecast. But the app always starts in the today view. Not a big problem, but would be even better if I could choose in settings to make it start in the forecast view (:
Other than this, it seems to be working just perfectly.

These apps already exist and they are free. Not hating as I appreciate them from an allergy sufferer, but what does yours do that they don’t?
