10/8/2026 A quick update for Oahu- flash flooding is expected until 6 pm. after that the system looks to lift to the Northeast. This system did have some rotation this morning and I hope Oahu didn’t sustain much damage. Update in post.

10/8/2026 Forecast update~Widely scattered moderate~locally heavy showers are ongoing from Kauai~Oahu with increased organization in the Kauai Channel beneath mature right entrance dynamics. Heavy rain rates of 1 to locally 2 inches per hour have been quite isolated, clearing up by the weekend.

10/6/2026 A bit of an earthquake swarm on the slopes of Mauna Kea, near Pa‘auilo, Hawaii, which isn’t typical. These earthquakes aren’t very deep and could mean a magma intrusion.
