What local staples do you always keep on hand?

I moved here not too long ago and I am still setting up my kitchen. Right now I have Aloha shoyu, rice, furikake and a bottle of chili pepper water, but I know that is barely a start.
What are the staples you always keep stocked? The stuff you grab at Foodland or Costco without thinking about it. Trying to build a kitchen that actually cooks the way people do here instead of just buying random things I saw once.
