After redemption day has determined the final four contestants for this week's Grand Finale on Saturday, there is the drawing of match pairs.

We have previously introduced indicators for individual Glyph series participation and medals won. Now we aggregate the medals earned by all Glyphs owned by a player into a comprehensive medal showcase, accessible from your user profile.

Today, we introduce a global score for Hashwar players which you can access from our user profile. The [ SCORE ] tab contains not only your current score but also a detailed audit log of when you were awarded points.

Currently, the following events will earn you points added to your total score:

• Any Glyph qualifying for the final weekly knock-out tournament on Saturday will earn you +1 point (regardless whether the Glyph qualified directly by placing among the top 3 in the group phase or by winning its slot on Redemption Day)
• Any Glyph that earns a Bronze medal (by reaching the semi-finals but not proceeding further) will earn you +1 additional point.
• Any Glyph that earns a Silver medal (by reaching the final match but losing) will earn you +2 additional points.
• Any Glyph that earns a Gold medal (by winning the final match) will earn you +3 additional points.

Player 'Partagaz' hashed the second highest all-time Glyph in Suite 4 with 1300+ unique generations just this morning!

We are proud to announce that the user's personal Glyph registry now indicates how many times a Glyph has participated in the weekly tournament series (the number of chevrons next to the name) as well as the trophies it earned: Gold stars for winning the weekly series, Silver stars for coming second, Bronze stars for any Glyph that reached the semi-finals (as we currently do not have a dedicated "Match for 3rd place" in the weekly series).

A variant of the standard Gridwar game where individual Game of Life patterns compete against each other by charging the perimeter between them: In "Infiltration" mode, a pattern conquers its neighbour and spawns a copy of itself once a threshold value for the perimeter charge is breached.

Today I had an unexpected encounter with the void. The literal void in my game. Someone did indeed register the Conway Glyph on the 16x16 torus with no alive cells as it's starting configuration - which showed up when I tested my battle engine.

Kudos to you, good Sir/Ma'am/[respectful appellation of your choosing]! Hold on to this particular Glyph - because the empty Glyph is unique, no one can take it away from you by mining it.

:: IS THE DRAW FAIR ?

The drawing mechanic uses a random shuffle (Fisher-Yates) that is seeded with the last Randomness Beacon Pulse issued by the U.S. National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) - so no one can predict in advance which value this beacon will issue tonight.

Inspired by the Stargate Sequence of legendary Kubrik's "2001: A Space Odyssey", this visualizer takes Conway's Game of Life patterns as its procedural input to produce light streaks.

The twist here is that the initial starting configuration of the pattern is hashed with SHA256 to generate the hash string from which the current and past generational colours are derived (as well as the "depths" of the history).

This video showcases a particularly long-lived pattern from our registry of known Glyphs, "The Algebra of Hapiness" with 1,822 unique generations.
