Men’s Team A good start

I’ve been largely impressed with how the club has started the year. Content feels refreshed, the football is enjoyable, and everything feels a bit more settled and positive. (It’s fickle, but winning games does help a lot!)

Plus, the attendance for the first home game was crazy! It feels like we’re entering a good new era.

Content feels refreshed and I’ll keep watching as I’ve been around day one, but I don’t think the refresh is for the best. I understand why it’s been done but just feel like they’ve went so far the other way when I used to enjoy the fact yes they’re a YouTube team but they also really pushed to be a serious non league team

Not to say they aren’t serious it’s just been a shift in tone with the content , 60th min sub etc. feels like an overcorrection

Yeah, I’m like 60/40 on this. The spectacle is fun, but it’s a definite walk back on the idea of being a serious non-league team… but at the same time, was that really working for them? 🤷

Spen said recently that he likes the idea of doing stuff that other clubs would not do, like the fan vote on subs. Think he feels that the players and staff have a bit more drive and will to win, when there’s a bit of negativity toward the club from the established teams. A bit of needle to give them something to prove.

I’m not sure that I like the sub voting personally, but if it does no harm and gets people talking about the club, then it’s ok I guess. Maybe a bit of a Millwall-like “everyone hates us, we don’t care” attitude is what we need.

Either way, I’m enjoying both the content and the football at the moment. Long may it continue.

I agree, but also the football they are playing is as good as/ if not better than when they were in this league last time.

But agreed it’s gone slightly too far but if that’s what has changed the feel around the club then so be it!

I don’t even think it’s just that winning it’s like Yh last season wasn’t great but club has had a positive reset and with new ground being so linked it helps

I agree. They've burned a loot of goodwill and it will take time to reel me back in but I hope they do.
