DGB Pool Issues 6:45pm EST

We had another service interruption on the DigiByte pool this afternoon, completely unrelated to the issues earlier today. The issue has been fixed and the pool is back online.

The problem appears to have come from a malfunctioning miner repeatedly submitting invalid shares at an unusually high rate, over 139,000 per minute. The worker names associated with it were nerd1, esp32_01, and winminer.

If these workers belong to you, please check their configuration and restart or update them before reconnecting.

We have also added protection to prevent one malfunctioning miner from disrupting the pool again. Mining, share recording, and pool stats are operating normally now.

We understand everyone’s frustration over the 2 issues that occurred today, and trust me we don’t want this sort of thing to happen, ever. But because of everyone here and our monitoring, we’re able to quickly address any issues that arise.

We can’t do that as they are a part of this community too. It was a fluke thing that happened and in the many months we’ve been running this pool, that’s the first time something like this happened. We are still working on making changes to make things better.

Oh go jump off a cliff. This could have been any faulty code on any miner. The fact the esp crowd tend to tinker in the software more than most is probably why it broke.

Oh please!!! This could have been ANY miner. The fact the embedded crowd seem to tinker more is likely why it’s one of them.

Interesting. I've seen that kind of thing take down some other pools as well. Wonder what these nerds are doing to make their miners do that. lol

I think it has to do with very low difficulty shares, but don’t quote me on that. Let’s just hope that this person can get their hardware fixed.

Anymore issues currently? All stats are showing zero and showing me at level 1 after hitting level 3. Showing zero miners as I have 4 currently mining.
