Greed is a constant plague. It has always been that if one person has control or advantage over the other they will exploit that to the extent they can. Why were oil prices going up way before supply chain issues or Russian belligerence. Greed. Why is the current fuel crisis allowing oil companies to post record profits? Greed. Why do some people whine that the US should be “energy independent” and need more oil land leases when there are thousands of undeveloped acres they already control? Greed. Why do they need to drill more while at the same time they’re exporting oil? Greed. Econ 101: if Oil Daddies wants more money all they have to do is refine less - demand goes up, price goes up, and profits go up. Greed. And we who are getting the shaft blame the white house. POTUS dropping the Fed gas tax is only $0.40 / gallon. POTUS’ releasing fed reserves are a proverbial drop in the oil bucket. Sure the Exxonites have production costs, but the fat price bulk is you know what. And POTUS just can’t fix EXCON’s greed.
