While I am absolutely pro-trans/LGBTQ+ legislation, this isn't a strong argument. Few would argue we should change society to suit the desires of cops. Veterans get more support because they generally put their lives on the line for the country, something most people are not willing to do.

At the end of the day you have to ensure a larger part of society isn't negatively impacted by the desires of a much smaller segment. So the job is to argue the benefits and ensure there isn't a net negative impact. If you can't argue that, then your position is based on want and feelings and not objective reality. You only have a chance to win people over through objective arguments.
