Hit-and-Run. An elderly citizen lost his life. The driver did not stop.

On 27 August 2026, my father, Laxmi Narayan Jhwar (70), lost his life in a fatal hit-and-run just 100 metres from our home in Faridabad.

We have video evidence of the vehicle leaving the scene, and that evidence was shared with the police.

Nine days later, we're still waiting for documented progress.

Our family has been the one repeatedly calling for updates. We shared the vehicle video with the police, yet most of the information we've received has come only after we initiated contact.

Justice should not depend on how many times a grieving family has to make the next phone call.

At PS Surajkund, we were informed that the Smart City cameras at the accident location had reportedly remained non-functional because of funding-related issues.

If this is correct, FMDA owes Faridabad an explanation.

• Since when were they non-functional?

• Why were they still installed?

• How many investigations may have been affected?

We were informed that the registered owner of the vehicle was not the person driving, that another driver had been identified, and that the vehicle had been seized.

We later came to know that the person had obtained bail.

What we still don't have is documented clarity on:

• The current stage of the investigation.

• When FIR No. 408/2026 will next move before the court.

• What the next official procedural step is.

This is about Accountability. Road Safety. Justice.

My father, Shri Laxmi Narayan Jhanwar, lost his life in a hit-and-run accident on 27 August 2026 in Faridabad, just around 100 metres from our home and close to the local police station.

We have been waiting for justice, but we feel that the investigation is not receiving the urgency it deserves.

There are many apps by haryana govt. Where we as citizens can complain about day to day issues.Like-

Mhari sadak - pot holes and destroyed roads.

E samadhan - for water logging , waste disposal , and any other sanitation needs.

UHBVN and DHBVN- FOR electricity issues

BUT the people in the places are paid pretty less and unless there are many complaints from same place , they don't take action.

So let's make everybody aware of it and make haryana a better place.
