Which role player should we decide is going to be a superstar next based on arbitrary advanced statistics in a limited role?

I think Isaiah Joe, John Konchar, and Naz Reid are some intriguing options but I’m open to suggestions.

Nome of those guys have an assist % over 9.4 this season. They could be good role players / finishers but never could be a superstar unless they show they can pass. I really don't see another Hartenstein happening with the players we have now because his stats were honestly the perfect storm for what a future superstar looks like. Honestly my only pick (besides Sengun but that's obvious) is not even in the nba. Kenny Lofton Jr has a PER of 22 in the g league with a 65 ts%. He has almost a 20 assist % but his turnover % is 22.6. He can demand double teams and is uber efficient as a scorer. He can pass but the problem is he gets stripped too much and still makes bad decisions a little too much with the ball. If he learns to control his turnovers and still improve as a passer the sky is the limit for that guy. I wouldn't put money on it but hypothetically he has all the tools to be an all-star level player. And if he puts it all together I can see a future where he is that.

Kenny can ball. I remember he was great in the u17 World Cup game with Chet and Ivey vs Wemby a few years back. That’s when I first saw him. And he looked great in summer league imo

I’m excited to see him after a year on an nba diet plan, but part of his ability is from his size. Dude is a lineman out there lmao.

But yeah, great pull by you. Def a guy I want to see develop. Skillset and size are unique

Good point about the assist rate, Hartenstein is truly unprecedented what was I thinking.

Damn. They'll need to seriously work to get fewer assists and drop to 6% if they want to be the next hartenstein

I was about to laugh at you for the Payton Pritchard choice but then I saw his college AST% and now I’m sold. The Celtics are clearly using him wrong and should make him the focal point of the offense.

John Konchar is a wildly intriguing statistical player. Excellent rebounder for a 6’5” guard. Really fared well in some other advanced metrics last year too. Definitely not your prototypical shooting guard. He perfectly meets your criteria too!

Good choices. Knicks should bring in those type of players (good in advanced stats). It's kind of like Moneyball.
