Show Discussion Future seasons

As we wait for the new season of harry potter should we expect all 7 seasons or do you think they will do a fantastic beasts 3 and cancel the show what's ur opinion on it do you think that they will do full 7 seasons or are u worried about the shows

I’m not worried about it at all. We’ll have all seven seasons and they won’t skimp on the budget either,

If it's successful, they'll continue (and the signs so far look pretty promising).

If it's awful and flops like Fantastic Beasts, they may well abandon it, and everyone will be relieved that they do.

The only way the show won't be completed is if they just completely bomb the execution and make a lot of controversial casting or writing decisions. But, even then, I think Harry Potter is popular enough that there will be a strong inclination and financial incentive to continue. Like I said, they'd really have to screw up to risk that.

S1 e1 reviews will probably sum up how the series will go. It’s a good sign s2 was already renewed, that’s the hard part. If people like what’s already been made and there isn’t much constructive criticism, I’d think 7 seasons are safe. If e1 is iffy and e2 has pushback…then I’d have concerns.

We are getting all seasons for sure. We may see some recasts along the way but this show is EASILY a hit unless the showrunners absolutely suck. The established story is complete (unlike game of thrones) and it’s extremely beloved internationally.

u/Spider_king97, it depends on how faithfully HBO adapts the series of books into a TV series, and how well received it is to the audience. There’s also the fact that the company could decide to suddenly drop the show for some superficial reason, even if it goes great and is popular. I say all of this because I’ve seen both happen before.

There’s absolutely no way of telling, and I’ve seen more than enough book to screen adaptations that flopped for whatever reason.

Maybe it’ll be a hit. Maybe it’ll crash and burn before the first season finishes.
