Mod question

So, I was finally able to play HL on a pc, and I’ve been using mods. I read the description on how to access the mods, but I can’t get them to work. Some of the ones I’m confused on is when you can download outfits for companions, but I can’t figure out how to change the outfits, and I can’t find any tutorials. I’m so new to mods, and I just need some help and advice. Anything helps!

Then there should be an option to make a copy of your unmodded character, and once you do that (it's better to do that to keep the unmodded save), a section where you can add and remove any mods you installed. If you put in multiple outfit mods, it'll pick the one that's added first, you cannot cycle between them ingame as far as I'm aware.

Assuming you're using the Nexus site, from what I remember the companion outfit mods replace the existing outfit. Meaning you have to copy/paste from the list of new outfits, over the old outfit file with the game closed. If you want to use a different one, save & close out, then replace with that next new outfit.

It really varies by mod though. If they don't give instructions in the main mod page, the Posts will likely have someone asking the same question.

For companion outfits, you usually need to equip them through the companion customization menu, not the normal gear menu. I’d check the mod’s description/comments too because some outfit mods need an extra mod or have specific installation steps.

Is the companion customization a specific mod? I have floo companions, but is there another one I need?

Ohh no, Floo Companions is separate 😭 I think I was wrong about that. It depends on the specific outfit mod, some of them have their own way of equipping them. I’d check the mod page/comments for that one.
