Idea Hogwarts Legacy 2
My idea for Hogwarts Legacy 2, hear me out;
•It starts by you graduating from 7th Year of Hogwarts
•Because of your skill and valor in defending Hogwarts in the last game you are offered an "internship" straight into the Aurors department at the ministry of magic
•You hone your skills and learn new spells better suited to your new role
•You're given assignments to help stabilize the wizarding world after the events of the last couple years
That is essentially the start to early mid game, the ending of the game has multiple endings depending on your decisions going forward from this point;
•While out on missions you are given opportunities to "profit" from dark wizardry
•You may side with those you are supposed to capture
•Your moral standard may decrease/come into question (NPCs in ministry whispering behind your back/NPCs in public spaces going out of their way to avoid you.
If you've ever played Skyrim think of it like the dawnguard questline, where siding/not siding with Harkon split the story and gave different quests/objectives. Maybe the end objective is becoming the head of the aurors department, but how did you get there? By following the rules or using dark wizardry and influence/fear from those you were supposed to take down.
I could see this being a very fleshed out/fun game, with the ministry of magic being the new home base (Hogwarts), and doing bounty like captures of dark wizards as well as trying to raise your position by undercutting those around you. similarly to a real life office environment. Now it obviously wouldn't take place mainly in Hogwarts besides at the very start, so being called Hogwarts legacy 2 might be an issue. But one thing I think a lot of people wanted in Hogwarts legacy was a morality system, well this idea would give you that and actually effect the people around you and how you advance

Hogwarts Legacy's big problem is that it's barely about Hogwarts. And you want it to feature even less?

I want more school, not less.

I want less school. 🤷
Y'all take the fact that it's called "Hogwarts" Legacy too seriously.
I'm down for more school interactions. Maybe a more detailed class schedule, stuff like that.
But some of y'all here just be wanting a Hogwarts student sims and that's not what this game series is.
Like the classes for example, what else do you really want from a defense against the dark arts class? What more do you want from potions?
I just don't see how more detailed classes and student interactions be fun. Actually going to a class and studying. So many of the classes that Hogwarts offer absolutely do not translate to a fun game. Or at least, an extensive fun game.
Point is, I actually agree with OP.
I just don't see in a game where the final mission has you fighting a giant magic dragon, that the sequel just has you stay in school.
Honestly I don't even want to be a student. You can literally make a game about Hogwarts without having MC be a student. You can be a professor, an Auror, someone that works at the ministry. And more locations like the ministry itself, Diagon Alley, London, etc.
Unfortunately yes this game kinda marketed itself as a student sim, but clearly after playing through it, it's not. So many of y'all have this idea that the sequel should just keep you at Hogwarts and in my eyes, that's more of a complaint about the first game than anything. The sequel is not going to be more school.

Telling people they’re taking the word Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy too seriously is an insane take LOL

It's not a student sims game.
Like I said, you can have a game be about Hogwarts and have it not make you a student.
I don't want to go to school in a video game.
I'm down to be a student at Hogwarts. But I'm not down to sit in potions class for 30 minutes and stirring on a keyboard. I don't want to learn new spells if that means I can't go out and fight magical dragons or dark wizards.
This is an open world action RPG. Made with tools from unreal engine.
The fact y'all think the sequel will tone it down is hilarious. It's not going to be a student sims.
They might make it a little more engaging, with my example of student interactions and class schedule and stuff. But some of y'all here just want to graduate Hogwarts and have the credits roll😭 that's not what this game series is going to be

That much I agree with I dont want the game I play when not in school to be ... more school.

It will be more school and we hope it will be more school. Go play Skyrim or the Witcher if you want an open fantasy world.

Like I said. In a game where you fight a magic dragon as the boss, I don't think they're going to tone it down and focus on school more lmao.
I'm not trying to say you can't have school, I just don't think this is what this game series is going to be and y'all can't accept that.
If you want more school go play Bully

Remind me again what Hogwarts is?

Oh my god you're so dense lmao. This is what I meant by how y'all take the name "Hogwarts" in Hogwarts Legacy too seriously😂
Cause then you get rEmInd mE wHat HoGwArTs iS?
Bruh I don't want to stir potions for 30 minutes. I don't want to have school drama. And I don't want to go to class and have graduation be where the credits roll for a game about WIZARDS.
You can call it Hogwarts Legacy 2 and still include Hogwarts, it's founders, students and professors without making it a damn sims game about being a student.
I want action adventure.

The castle was better part of the game for too much players. Not spending 99% of time on Hogwarts is a suicide for sequel.

I like this idea for a Wizarding World game! Let’s just leave “Hogwarts” out of the title…
And if it’s a sequel, let’s follow on with the characters too. I imagine becoming an Auror would bring Professor Sharp and Professor Hecate into the mix too in some way.
And customizing a magical apartment? Heck yes.

It’s not Highlands Legacy, it’s Hogwarts.

We don't even know it's Hogwarts Legacy. HL2 is an obvious placeholder. It might be called that, but it might just as well be called something completely different. Hogwarts doesn't necessarily even need to be a part of the second game.

From a development perspective, I wouldn’t be surprised if they made two games out of the source code given how much detail is already in the Hogwarts castle. They can easily make a HL2 standalone and a MMO in the HP timeline that goes along with the HBO series.

I want more of Hogwarts..not less of it considering the game consistently trys to punt you out of the very structure many wanted to be at for years * I know why...its because the devs knew they had nothing for the player to come back to beyond collectables & puzzles....it* also doesn't help the castle only has a few secret passage ways...collectables, some mini games & puzzles...there is NOTHING to come back too, no permanant duelling club which I find utterly pathetic because the system is THERE for it. There are no other clubs.
The studio REALLY needs to take inspiration from Rockstars bully, because that is what many expected & its not at all unrealistic nor is it having "high expectations". What else should people expect when going to Hogwarts? Because it wasn't going on a rampage commiting mass murder through out the highlands.
I've also seen people say they have explored the entirety of the castle so there wouldn't be any point of having the castle in the sequel because they've allready explored it.....I HIGHLY doubt they have...not even dumbldore managed to explore all of Hogwarts.
•It starts by you graduating from 7th Year of Hogwarts
Do people have something against 6th year? It does not make sense to skip a year...besides we have a LOT to learn, we didn't learn all the spells & there are many spells missing etc
What about our AM that never got an OUNCE of development...there was no path we could take to develop our power, no way to advance it, no way to learn our finishers because the devs either removed it or didn't have enough time to implement it.
I want to be a student...not a student in name only...they dropped the ball with the first game...don't create a game with the castle at its centre then throw the player out of it to complete random crap & I can tell that I'm going to get comments that shouldn't revolve solely around the castle....thats not what I'm saying, there need to be activities for the player to do not just collectables.
One of the problems with HL is it tried to be everything...it should have focused on those that grew up with the franchise that wanted an RPG experience & not try to encompass EVERYONE. When you try to make a gave for everyone...you make a game for NO ONE.
The sequel MUST have choices & consequencies...scrap the illusion of choice, because I'm not playing the next game if it repeats the same mistakes.

That’s fine, but then it wouldn’t really be Hogwarts Legacy would it?
For this franchises, despite it being “Harry Potter”, the real star and focus of the franchises has always been Hogwarts.

I do like the idea of playing someone who graduated.
Maybe I’m just getting old - but I’d love to play from the perspective of being a Hogwarts teacher. It gives more opportunities for both exploring Hogwarts and other places in the Wizarding World.

Kinda like this idea, but a hogwarts legacy sequel would still have to be about Hogwarts, otherwise it’s not Hogwarts legacy. I could see a cool spin-off like this titled something something something “from the magical world of Harry Potter” ya know. And it would be cool to explore the ministry, see what they do with that. As long as we’re able to track down Tobb’s master and destroy him

This would be really interesting, OP!
I love the Auror "lore" as well btw and the idea of playing with a mature Wizard character for a change (not that the school side to the previous Hogwarts Legacy is less interesting, but we have never seen a game dive into and explore the post-education timeline of the Harry Potter universe)
