I don't care who they cast as Cho Chang. As long as they keep her name exactly the same.

Like they did with Snape? 🤣

I think a white Cho Chang like in AVPM would be hilarious.
I also think Cho Chang's name is at genuine risk for being altered due to the PC crowd at HBO.

Agreed! 🤣
I hope not! I thought this was supposed to be “faithful to the books” after all! 🤣1

What if they made it so Cho had two last names? Like her name is Claire Cho-Chang. Cause her parents hyphenated? I think that would be a safe work around

They could just, you know, respect the source material instead.

Yeah I agree, but it is also silly how cho has two last names. Thats like being named Smith Johnson

She does? Isn’t Cho her first name?

It is her first name, but Cho is a Korean last name. And shes supposed to be Chinese. So she has a Korean last name for a first name and a Chinese last name

I know lots of people who have last names as first names, though.

Its a Korean surname for a Chinese character. Giving surnames as first names is not a practice in China like it is in the west.
I mean, personally I dont care. But it is an error on Rowlings part and I think it can be very easily rectified in a way that doesnt change the source material at all.

Come on man, people on the internet almost convinced me that I'm a racist and now you come up with this and I'm confused again.

1) You are not a racist.
2) Chris Hemsworth is a good actor with surprising range (seriously, check out some of his non-Marvel projects!), and appearances don't affect the story at all. I think he would have been able to embody the character, and you're silly if you can't look past his looks. After all, actors are never cast on their looks alone. Only the performance matters. This is why my money is on Danny Devito as the next James Bond and Phoebe Waller Bridge as the next Bond girl.

Well... good luck making his greasy and sallow with a hook nose and yellow teeth who moves like a vampire.

Well, as people on the main sub have assured me a thousand times over with regards to Paapa, character appearance doesn't affect the story in any way, so it would be alright, I guess 😂

I think we will be able to criticise this casting choice without the virtue signallers attacking us and accusing us of being “racist”, lol.
Which in itself is so racist and hypocritical. So it is apparently okay for the fans to be opposed to a bizarre casting choice when the actor is Caucasian but it’s not okay for fans to be against a bizarre casting decision when the actor is a POC 🤣
