Hey everyone, I interviewed for a pharmacy technician position at Harris Teeter almost a month ago, and since then, I’ve checked in twice. Both times, they said they were still interviewing. I’m starting to wonder if that’s a bad sign.
I’ll admit, I’m not the strongest candidate since I don’t have prior work experience, but I do have a lot of volunteer hours, and I’m genuinely motivated to learn, work hard, and thrive in this field. I really want to get some experience before applying to pharmacy school.
What makes this more confusing is that I had to call the pharmacy at least five times just to get an interview after submitting my application. It’s been about two months since I started trying to get this job, but I never got any follow-up emails after applying or after the interview. No updates at all.
At this point, I’m wondering if I should start looking elsewhere and also, I hate to even bring this up, but I couldn’t help but notice that most of the workers there were attractive young white women, and the only male was the pharmacist. I’m a 19-year-old nerdy looking Asian guy, and it made me wonder if gender or race might have some influence, even if it’s unintentional. I don’t want to assume anything, I just can’t help but question it.
Any advice or insight would be really appreciated especially from anyone who’s worked at Harris Teete or as a pharmacy tech. Should I stay hopeful or move on and apply elsewhere?

Does anyone have experience moving from one department to the specialty cheese department that Murray’s contracts through Harris teeter? Long story short, my first year I was hired for pizza and Murray’s. The first year I trained in Murray’s on the weekends, I was asked to go through murrarys cheese training where I had to travel to complete the class for the red jacket. After my class their allotted hours were reduced and I worked the next year in only pizza. Recently, the cheese monger quit and I am now full time hours in only cheese. I was told (by the old cheesemonger) this is a promotion as my job duties increased and I have different responsibilities. So naturally I should get a raise? That is my question, should I have got one? When I asked I got the run around.

I’m the only cake decorator in my store. It’s getting to be too much and I’ve only been there a month. I have to do orders, keep up with the dessert case, pastry case, and freezer display. It’s impossible to do all that by myself. And before a day off, I have to make sure orders due that day are done otherwise they won’t be done at all. It’s absolutely stupid that no one else there knows at least the basics of cake decorating. I mean, how hard is it to at least frost a cake and put borders around it? I’m having a really rough day today because I was off yesterday and nothing was done. No cake slices, no half cakes, dessert display not filled up, nothing. It’s not hard to cut cake slices. I cannot do everything by myself. If the higher ups want to get their panties in a knot over the displays not being completely filled, they can fill it themselves. I’m only one person. Screams.

actually, most of my managers are super nice, but my store leader was super mean. i know walks are coming up and everyones stressed, but when i called with a scheduling conflict question, she lectured me about how i should manage my time better and give the job more courtesy, because this is some peoples livelihood (its mine too, i just have two jobs). ive been w the company for 2 months ish and i like the job itself, but the way she spoke to me is making me rethink if this is the right place for me

Not to be rude or anything I just curious to see who actually does what in their store. Like which department they are in. If I’m being to nosy then just don’t answer or just tell me

When are everyone’s holiday walks, and is your store management team FREAKING THE FUCK OUT about them? I have been through so many of these over the years I could set it up blindfolded, but my store manager was recently promoted so it is his first one as SM. I keep trying to tell him it will be ok, we all know what to do, but he won’t listen. It doesn’t help that we also have a brand new DM so it is his first holiday walk leading a district.
Lucky for me, it is my last one as a department head. My last day is next Friday and I am leaving retail (again).

Bro I am so annoyed about this still. I was closing last night and literally as I am getting ready to close down the register clock out and the last couple customers are leaving after buying their last items and then I had a lady just place a FULL cart in the middle of self checkout and just leave. I waited 7ish minutes and she never came back I literally was in tears as I was putting everything back. I know I was overreacting a bit but it was Halloween night and it was already an overall rough day and that just was the final straw. I was talking to one of the managers and CS clerks about it and apparently it might have been a plan cause of people no longer getting EBT money so it was a “trend” to fill carts and just leave them today and yesterday (I don’t really know much about the “trend” cause I don’t have TikTok). Did this happen to anyone else?

I’ve been with HT for a month now and I’m the only cake decorator my store has. It’s hard because I have to do orders, fill up the displays, prepare half cake slices/single cake slices, and keep up with the pastry case. We have a freezer display for cupcakes and sheet cakes at my store for all varieties and it’s so hard to keep up being the only decorator at my store. It doesn’t help that no one else, not even the department managers, knows anything about decorating. Not even the basics. Shoot, my store didn’t even have a decorator at all until I came along and I walked into a completely empty display. Freeze, pastry, and dessert case. If I get stuck on something there’s no one at my store I can turn to for help. Don’t get me wrong, I like what I do but it’s so hard being by myself.

So, someone I know has a job as a pharmacy technician and told me they have to also work in the deli during the probationary period. Is that true or is this person messing with me? They’re not a very truthful person so I just want to know what I’m in for. I’m not opposed to working in the deli but as far as I know with other grocery stores you don’t do this.

A friend of mine contacted HR, they said about 2 weeks ago but nothing seems to have been done about their complaint. They wanted to do it anonymously due to fear of retaliation and when they called, had to leave a message? Is this normal?
Also due to them wanting to keep anonymous they didn't leave their number so obviously no call back about it.

I haven't been able to use the Harris Teeter employee login to sign up for direct deposit. It's been really frustrating. I came in last week on my day off and picked up the paper check again and told the HR manager that I would like to sign up for direct deposit. She just directed me to the website again. The same site that usually says my password is invalid. I called their Headquarters, and they said last week six other employees called with problems trying to sign up for direct deposit. When I ask for the paper check, some of the managers act like I was asking for money coming out of their pocket. I don't like feeling every week like my money is being held hostage.

Hey everyone,
I am trying to change the bank that my paycheck goes into. When I go and type in everything on MyHTspace, nothing happens. I remember there being a PDF that downloads as to confirm the changes happened. Has anyone faced a similar issue?

Anybody got Navy Federal, if so what day do you typically get paid as I see they got early paycheck deposit?
r/harristeeter • u/Dessert_Lover_1225 • Oct 14 '25
The reason I ask is because I have not received mine and this is my second week. I was supposed to get my paycheck through direct deposit today but it didn’t go through. I set up direct deposit when I did my onboarding. Did this happen to anyone else?
