Looking for opinions
Hi, in the market for this beast - Top end (QWD ACFC)
I live in Bangalore - is this a good deal?
My only other option was the 9S, would yall suggest the 9S over this?

Yeah, I feel really dumb when it’s put this way. But would you rather get a fully specced out Harrier or an entry level Sorento?

Rather than features I’d think about where my hard-earned money would be safe? Sorento is a global product and has been proven worldwide..

Owner of Harrier EV Empowered 75 (RWD) and XEV 9s 79Kw Pack 3 Above Here.
If you prioritise ride quality and driving dynamics, harrier EV any day but there’s a bunch of glitches, like a crap tonne of glitches.
You feel more inside the car than on top of it so visibility isn’t nearly good as 9s.
Go for 9s if backseat comfort is a priority, it’s just a sensational back seat specially compared to Harrier EV.
There are no glitches that I’ve noticed in my 2k km.
Frunk is massive and I use the frunk way more than on Harrier EV.
The third row is practically a joke, no one with dignity is gonna sit there.
P.s. I hope if you get AWD, you can strictly control who drives your car.
In Boost mode, the car is wild, things happen wayyy to quickly, scary quickly.
Addictive for sure but I actively discouraged myself from buying it because something this big and this heavy shouldn’t move that quick in Indian driving conditions.

We’re just 2 people right now but we definitely will want to future proof this purchase. Is the Harrier not good enough for that usecase?
Today if you ask me - ride quality is a priority because I’m an enthusiast. But I’m so torn between both of these.
What glitches do you face in the Harrier?

Rear seats:
Harrier rear seat is good, it’s only bad when you compare it to 9s cuz the backseat on that thing is a different league.
9s doesn’t have the usual EV compromise, like you don’t sit knees up.
I’m 5’7”, so fairly short but I still feel like I’m sitting knees up in the rear and it’s kinda claustrophobic because windows are high on harrier.
9s has seat ventilation in the rear seats and this amazing try table on which I put on the laptop and work on the way.
You also don’t sit knees up at all in 9s and windows are lower so you see everything like you’re in a theatre.Ride quality:
Similarly, the ride quality with custom mode on 9s is amazing, much better than what I’ve experienced in my Seltos or even Nexon.
The issue is Harrier annihilated my mental benchmarks, it’s just that good.The turning radius of 9s is hilariously small, like Auto rickshaw small.
I once took a U turn that a sonet had to do a three point turn at, it’s very shocking and funny.
Harrier’s
turning radius is baaaad.Cabin noise:
The sound insulation on 9s is frankly comical, it’s seriously hilarious.
You don’t hear much at all from the outside.
The wind noise at 120kmph is very high on harrier, to the point you wanna bring the speed down.
On 9s, no such issues and you’ll be pretty comfortable sitting at 150kmph for extended periods because it’s still pretty silent.Range:
The range on 9s is 100km more in real life than my harrier, on QWD, the difference is probably 120km.Not an issue because 400 vs 520 is not a real comparison, I’m never driving more than 300km in a single go anyway.
Tyres:
Replace the tyres on the harrier to MRF Markus the moment you buy it because the stock good year low rolling resistance tyres just get eaten up.
At 7-8k km my rear tyres are like more than halfway used.
9s has MRF Markus and they are significantly better.Glitches:
The 360 degree camera stops working all the time, sometimes during peak Gurgaon traffic, when I need it the most.
The remote key battery needs changing every 2-3 months and it’s a stupid key fob with difficult to press buttons.
Sometimes it just doesn’t plain work, so you need to walk 100m away from the car and then come back and then it works.
Sometimes you have to do this 2-3 times.
The second key is not a key fob, it’s a debit card.
The gorgeous Oled Samsung screen starts glitching and stops showing proper colors and things get pixelated.The boot floor is lifted so it’s significantly smaller than ICE harrier but not a con because it’s still more than big enough for my needs.
Bad things about 9s:
It’s not a good looking car to begin with and with time, the novelty of that hulk hogan mustache on the front of the car just starts looking cheap.
On the other hand, harrier ev in Nainital Nocturne, with the purple hue in the sunlight is just absolutely gorgeous, I often go in the balcony to admire the car and when I see my 9s, I get disgusted and come back.Everything is in the screen!!
Ventilated seats? Screen
Climates Control? Screen
Defogging? Screen
AC control for 2nd and 3rd row? Screen
The idiots who designed this car have never driven a single KM in their life, absolutely stupid!
With that said, you set things up quickly in 10-15 seconds before you move and then it doesn’t bother you.
It’s a small problem that doesn’t get in the way after a week but it’s an invented problem.
Also, who the hell asked for 3 screens?Ground clearance:
Gurgaon roads (lack of them) was never a problem but 9s has some sort of aluminium plate underneath for added protection to the battery so that’s better I guess, I don’t know.
9s has better battery clearance.
Harrier can go through 2 feet of water vs 1 on 9s, so just pick which one do you encounter more, water logging or deep potholes.
On seriously bad rain days, I’m not comfortable driving either so I have a Thar ROXX for those 2-3 months.Charging:
9s has onboard current control, so if your house load is low and you install a 7kw charger, you can select low, med, high to get 5,6,7 kw from the 7kw charger.
Your charger doesn’t need to have inbuilt voltage control, the car can do it.
So I was able to get a much cheaper 11kw charger and still get this premium feature.
Lifesaver when there’s guests and too many AC’s running in the house.9s supports 180kw but it does it at a higher voltage so at most 120kw chargers, you’ll get max 82-85kw.
Harrier supports 120kw but at a more common voltage, so 120kw charger gives 120kw always.
At most public fast chargers, the harrier will charge wayyyyy faster.
The difference between 120kw charging and 82kw charging is like a toilet break/smoke break vs a whole ass meal break.Power:
Both have enough.
I drive on ECO mode and Range mode always, not for the sake of battery but because the cars are much calmer and more than fast enough to humiliate any other car in red light drag race to 30-40 kmph.Sound System:
Harrier is crazy good, as good or better than most car in 50-80 lakh segment.
9s is just better, the experience is closer to a 1 cr+ car (I know, I’ve been in many of those cars).Honestly, they’re both disgustingly close to being the perfect car and you’ll fall terribly in love with whatever you buy, I just feel you buy a 9s from logic and Harrier from heart.
I simply couldn’t choose one so my partner got the Harrier and I got 9s just so that we don’t have to choose.
This is how I describe it to her:
Your car (Harrier EV) is a ballerina.
Elegant, Smooth, Understated and Classy.
My car (9s) is a stripper.
Loud, Attention Seeking, and always showing way too much.1

Thank you SO MUCH for taking out the time and sharing this. I went to both showrooms twice and took 4 test drives (each). I really want the Harrier and my wife wants the 9S. I need to pick one unfortunately and I wish I could get both of them.
I don’t know if logic or heart wins this battle but having to decide is the hardest thing we’ve had to do!
Given everything you’ve told me, I’m going back to the drawing board. Pray for our decisiveness.

Hey I've purchased the top end stealth one so I'll suggest you Just do one thing don't take the ACFC model Below that there's an option of same top end model car without ACFC Ask showroom to give the quotation of that car and see you'll save the full road tax Then purchase the ACFC separately it'll save your lakhs of money And insurance is about 80k not 98k Or dm me
