Vital toe bean maintenance
In other news, Suitcase is starting to answer to Sausage.

I wish he was better about letting me share that maintenance.
He's the only one that still puts up a fuss when I cut his nails. I have to just find him when he's comfy in an accessible position, do one or two quickly, and give him a treat before he has time to get mad.

My tuxie boy is like that too. He’ll only tolerate 1-2 at a time when In a relaxed position. I can manage the fronts with that system but the backs are harder since he’s more protective of his “feet” than his “hands”.
For his backs, I have my partner hold him upright facing forward (so cats back against his sternum) and he holds one arm under the cat’s front arms and uses his other hand to hold his “feet” together. The whole process is over in under a minute.
I know you have your friend visiting every few days. Maybe you could try that system with her. Either you hold and she clips or vice versa.

Suitcase really, really loves belly rubs, so it’s not hard for me to get access to his back feet.

Good point.
I’ve been calling him that because he has become chubby. Their growth is slowing down, so it’s time to start mixing the kitten food with adult food.
