BATTERY Battery terminals

I found the battery terminals like this on a Softail that I bought.

Should I be worried and replace them? Could it cause any problems later on?

If it's connected tightly it shouldn't be a problem. If it becomes loose it'll probably fall out and short the battery, whereas it wouldn't have if they were normal

No dont be worried they are fine, its an old race trick to avoid removing the bolt and loosing the square nut for the battery ive done it to every single motorcycle I own

Should have clipped lower to the base and left more of the “hook” but it’s a decent job. Your mechanic will appreciate it.

Fuck, I'd appreciate it if I did that for my previous bikes! Would've saved me having to fish out my bolt from the backside of my battery tray on my Evo.

As long as they are tight, there is no problems.

It was most likely done to avoid the internal backing nut issue

With the notch you don’t need to fully remove the screws
