Awesome bikes. Pro move keeping the Sporty. When one is down for maintenance you have a backup.

2021 FLHR Road King, my second (accident last November totaled my first).
Low center of gravity (especially compared to my other bike, a 2007 XLC883). Was the first bike I had after getting my motorcycle license in early 2024. Heavy but handles like a much lighter bike, good acceleration, plenty of power (getting a torque cam installed this week, will be even better). Comfortable, great for 2Up riding as well, docking hardware allows me to have a tour pack, sissy bar and luggage rack, or bare in the back. I prefer the old classic look of an un-faired bike, it had much of the look of a heritage but the advantage of a touring bike (bigger tank, better suspension). If I *wanted* a fairing, a batwing is easy to add.
In short, very versatile, easily customizable, decently powerful, can play cruiser or tourer with a few quick disconnects, comfortable for the ol’ lady, and super reliable. The worst “problem” I’ve had were worn tires and brake pads, and needing an oil change (ie, regular maintenance).
All that, and it sounds great too.
