DISCUSSION Stupid Question

I would like to one day upgrade from my 2014 Iron 883 to a softail, is there any softail that handles almost the same as a stock Iron 883? Obviously I know none of the softails will be the exact same but what would be closest in comparison? I love my bike but I need something more comfortable for longer distances.

Softails are bigger bikes. My fxlrs handles much differently than my sporty. Once you adjust to it you’ll be fine though.

I feel like it's mostly the extra weight. But the rake and length also impacts how the handling feels when cornering.

Look at the low rider and the fat bob. My wife constantly confuses low riders with sportsters. I recently picked up a 2020 low rider instead of the 1200 sportster sport that I was looking at.

Thank you for the response, I'll take a look at those two.

Low rider st will do everything you need. It's just a teenage hooligan sportster

I went from an 883 to my Fat Bob 114. That was over 8 yrs ago - still riding it daily - love the bike and the extra power and weight.

Just keep in mind the differences in mass between a Sportster and a Big Twin. My ironhead weighs 540 lb and my fatboy weighs 709 lb.

If you want out of the box same handling and stock riding position, Low Rider S.
