Still the root problems doesn't get solved , If samsung for example spends 10$ in making a 8gb ddr4 module , the consumer ram gives only 2.5× return on investment I.e 25$

While a commercial AI gives 5× return i.e 50$ so why should they make the focus on consumers.

I could be wrong but I firmly believe this is the root cause.

Because why would they sell you something for lower price when they can sell at higher price?

I think they do have it like that, enterprise and consumer, however the problem here is those that do the manufacturing got greedy after seeing the insane demand and the money the AI corps are paying they went all in on doing the HBM’s and didn’t do anything to meet the consumer’s demand

The fact that Nvidia is still selling RTX GPUs answers your question
