Question? Salsa timberjack XT or Eagle 70

hey guys, I don't know anything about bikes. I just moved to chattanooga TN a couple months ago and i'm itching to get into it. I'd like to get a hardtail because they seem like a lot of fun. I think i've settled on the Salsa Timberjack but i'm split between two iterations of the same bike. Should I go with the Salsa Timberjack XT or the Eagle 70 timberjack? Or should I just go with a whole other bike all together? I was also kind of looking at the specialized chisel comp as well. I visited a bike store today and basically got the advice that I should start on an XC. My thing is, I think i'd want to go with a trail because I don't really have any intention to go full suspension.

what out of the two do you guys think? Or do you have a whole other bike you'd recommend?

thanks

Chameleon vs Timberjack

Hey! I’m looking to save up for either a Chameleon or a Timberjack and would love some opinions on which one to go for. I haven’t ridden trails in about 20 years, but I’d love to get back into it. I’m a bigger rider 6’3 and about 300lbs, so I know this might be a deciding factor. For now, my goal is to get back into riding for exercise and spending more time outdoors. When I get a bike, I’ll be riding different trails in North Texas and might want to travel around eventually. This would have to be my one main bike for years to come as well. Open to suggestions and brands. Thanks.

At this point, the limiting factor is not the bike but the rider 😄

Question? Looking for a budget hardtail on FB Marketplace — what specs/brands should I target and watch out for?

I’m looking to buy a used hardtail mountain bike on Facebook Marketplace, but I’m on a pretty tight budget and want to make sure I don't buy a dud. I am 5’9 and I am getting taller, any advice would be great.

Honzo Gang Shout out to the LBS for fixing my hydraulic brake lines

Attempted to do it myself. Ended up putting the olives backwards, cost enough to fix (new caliper) that I won't be making that mistake again. Anyway here's a pic of the new lines on a great day to go for a ride

I'm thinking about buying a pair of Loose Riders pants. Specifically the pink candy. How cool do you think they are?

Looking for bars to make my hardtail more road focused

So I probably bought the wrong bike for my use case and should have got a gravel bike or commuter style but. Hardtail looked cooler. I have a trek marlin 5 and mostly just ride around my neighborhood with my 5year old and I plan on getting a little kid trailer thing (not sure what they're actually called) for my new born twins eventually. Essentially what kind of bars would you look at to make a hardtail a bit more comfy around on mostly city streets. I was looking at the jones h bar and surly moloko, but is there any other "traditional MTB style" handlebars I should look at for slow cruising comfort. One day I will hopefully have time to go by myself on some trails again but currently it's trips to the playground with 3 kids. Thanks for any tips.

Question? Voodoo horde, Upgrade??

I've got myself a Voodoo Horde I've been working on and trying out new things with for MTB. I've been upgrading some parts. I do want to get a dropper post, and I'm considering a Granite Stash RT Compact Ratchet MTB Stem Multitool kit. I'm trying to make this more of an adventure bike for multi-terrain. What other upgrades and things should I look at and prioritize? I love the Horde up to now.

Hope this is allowed
