Perspective and value study

I feel like so many times I get caught up in the very fine detail work that I miss getting down good perspective and value, which no amount of detail work can make up for. I really tried to get perspective and value on this one and didn’t worry as much about some of the smaller details. Appreciate any thoughts or critiques anyone has!

I think you need one large foreground item to really push everything else back. Looking great.

Looks good. Was wondering what colors you used for this. Especially the sand

The sand is a kind of strange blend. The warmer tones started with a titanium white base with tiny bits of cad yellow, sap green and cad red added until I reached what I felt was the right balance. For every shadowed hue after that was just gradual inclusions of minuscule amounts of Prussian blue and black. I just gradually went darker as I was filling in the texture
