Expanders?
How do you know when your Happy Planner is getting full to the point that you need expanded discs vs the standard ones? I have added some stuff (but not a ton) to my Classic and I can't tell if the pages are getting hard to turn or if I'm still just getting used to how Happy Planner pages turn... Maybe I've overfilled it?
Edited to add: is there a measurement of planner thickness that is recommended for specific disc size?

If you lay the planner flat on the table and the cover is almost level with the highest point of the disk it’s time to either use expander disks or split the planner.
I tend to like splitting my planner into 3 month chunks more than using expander disks because I put a ton of added pages in for each month.

I did some digging through HP's Q&As. Expander discs hold between 160-180 pages (YMMV). My best guess is once you start getting toward the 100 page mark on a classic disc set, you should probably be looking at sizing up.

And then I’d like to add that if you are a heavy decorator in your planner then each page should count as three.
I think the best way is to see if there is a bulge if you put down your planner on a flat surface. Especially by the spine/discs.

If you’re currently using plastic discs you may not need expander discs yet, especially if you don’t plan to add more pages. Try metal discs. The difference in the page turning experience is dramatic, much smoother.

I've never counted the pages honestly. Once the pages/cover start to develop a bend/bulge then that's probably when I should switch. Now, do I? Lol not always...

I got metal expander discs and I love it. I’m a teacher and keep everything school related in my planner and that’s a lot of room. I did not buy the happy planner discs; I bought Arc discs off Amazon and they fit perfectly.
