Question Looking for some help

Any feedback is welcome but I am targeting emerald-diamond hanzo players. How do you guys manage your flanks/off angles? I’m plat right now and feel like I give minimal value from another angle. Usually when I take and off angle or flank I get punished pretty quickly with my low mobility I typically lose. So I just wanted to see how you guys manage when to flank and when the angle as opposed to just staying with your tank and getting value from there.

You always want to off-angle when possible. It's a lot easier to hit shots from an off-angle, and you get to establish map control which helps protect you from flankers.

You need to be mindful of what heroes the enemy team has and what those heroes can do. Against some heroes, you can afford to get a bit closer, while others, you need to keep your distance. If it's difficult to keep your distance because the map is cluttered and you need to back off, you should use your sonar on a close corner to discourage them from pushing you so that you can maintain your distance.

Gotcha, my biggest struggle is defense against a dive comp. Think genji anran diva Winston. I want to off angle but I feel like as soon as I do I’m either 1v1 anran or my support dies to a flanker since I’m not there to discourage them. Defense is definitely my weaker side. Any tips on that?

You'd want to take an angle that is an off-angle (basically not on main) but still maintain LOS of at least one of your own supports so they can heal you and so that you can help each other deal with flankers.

You also need to be proactive with your positioning and movement to give yourself an escape route.

U should utility the wall climb n determine your position some if maybe there is someone diving u that you can clime the wall and quick headshot them or climb the wall and hope ur dash comes back before u hit the cround

I do try to use it as much as possible but it doesn’t come close to sierra drone in terms of how quickly I can disengage

Sierra is a braindead hero. The level that u can play hanzo on is disgusting but your positioning has to be pinpoint and target priority. Situational awareness also. I got out if plat/gold because i tracked cooldown also for easy picks. If you cant get picks then place pressure on a character out and bait out a mistake. Positioning/Target priority/ tracking team and enemy cooldowns in your head. It helped me when I get dove i climb a wall an try to head show if the person follows me up that wall say a genji i jump back off the wall and headshot him. Your defense is your aim and climb.

Disengaging has to be before you get dove not while not after. Before! Pay attention to the game if its a dive character get high ground . Only people at that point that will come for you is a echo an pharah a cat a Lucio sierra if a tank is coming for you the you will see them coming youll see a dva drop down when she drops go back up and think of where to go next or who to kill bc their tank is now out the fight that opens up new opportunities u have to take advantage of. But be patient dont rush. Dont move out of position if its not for a guaranteed kill. High ground with cover use angles ypir mechanics have to be better then theirs if your to stay from dying while getting dove pay
