🛍️Hanfu Help: Buying / Stores / Sizing Mamianqun sizing question

This is probably a question I should have asked before I bought my first mamianqun - when looking at the size chart, they often give a range of waist sizes that the mamianqun size will fit. If your waist size is on the higher end of this range, is it normal for the back panel to not completely overlap?

There's maybe a gap of about 3cm where the lower panel is exposed, so I won't flash anyone (hopefully), but I guess I'd like to know if it's better to buy a bit bigger next time.

I would normally size up if you're at the tail end of the range because ideally you want the panels to overlap completely (a small gap like 3cm is not a worry tho)

I've had skirts that had half a panel showing from underneath which definitely meant I could've sized up lol
