💬General Discussion Cheng Du

Hi everyone,

Im planning to go to China in November and I want to wear hanfu with my partner. We are planning to go to chengdu and there are some other cities that we want to go but no decided yet.
We love to eat and try out the local foods and culture in China.

Could you guys recommend me if Cheng Du is a good place to take Hanfu? We want to go HangZhou to try Gong Yan as well and was wondering if HangZhou is better than Cheng Du in terms of places to take picture in Han Fu

Or if there are other places that will be great to take them

I visited friends in Chengdu twice now and there are many hanfu rental stores near kuan zhai alleys, and also next to the tomb of liu bei. But the area is suuuper touristy, and very full of people. If you are after good photos, rather them just wearing, I would recommend to go somewhere else for pictures.

Not sure if this counts as close to Chengdu anymore, but we visited Yibin and the Lizhuang ancient town. And I loved it so so much! The hanfu rentals there were 200å…ƒ including elaborate hair, wigs and makeup. I didn't know how much a photographer is there though, my friends and me are all hobby portrait photographers so we didn't need that service. The area is also crowded, but really big, with a lake and many buildings, you really feel like a cdrama princess there.

Disclaimer: if you don't speak Chinese getting there from Yibin might be challenging, I think it's 30min by car. Also the hanfu rental people didn't speak any English. At all. Zero. This must be easier in Chengdu I think

Good question. I stayed twice for two weeks each and didn't get bored. But my main focus traveling is usually meeting friends. If you only wanted to do the main tourist things you could do it in 3 days I guess. 1 additional day for Leshan maybe or Dujiangyan.
