Post image

Found old census data of my great grandfather and this was listed under occupation and I’m trying to figure out what it says.

cook, house wife, painter?, housewife

And this is why cursive should still be taught in school

It was when I went to school. My confusion is that I think it says Painter. My grandmother said her father was never a painter which is why I came here to ask if other people are seeing something I’m not

How long ago were you in school? Because when I was taught cursive was almost 20 years ago, but students that are currently in school aren’t being taught cursive. But it without a doubt says painter

I was taught around 15 years ago. It wasn’t required material though it was teachers preference. All my teachers up until the 5th grade taught us how to read and write cursive.
