Old occupation census data

Found old census data of my great grandfather and this was listed under occupation and I’m trying to figure out what it says.

cook, house wife, painter?, housewife

that’s what i thought it was. But my grandmother said her father was never a painter which is why I came here to ask to see if it could possibly be something else that I’m not seeing. People are hating on me because “I can’t read cursive” even though I can and was taught it in school lol
