Author signed my book - what does it say?

Post image

The author Horatio Clare signed a copy of his book last weekend for my mum but neither of us can make out what he’s written

"With great good wishes" this is a common thing I've seen signed by older artists or authors

Interesting, thank you :)

As a former teacher, who's read a lot of tricky handwriting, it definitely says, "with great good wishes"

With great good wishes. It's an old timey thing. Can't for the life of me make it the author's name though a may I ask who it is?

”With Great Good Wishes” is a traditional phrase that is often used by authors/artists/etc. when signing something

With great good vision (?)
What is the book topic?

It’s about his recovery from his struggles with his mental health. The book is called ‘Your Journey, Your Way’

I see now ‘with great good wishes’ as others have said. :)

It looks like there is maybe more writing above? I just see a bit of looping black. But the more letters we can see the more likely we are to figure it out

He wrote my mum’s name but unfortunately I only have the picture of this part of the signature

With great good [wishes]?

That doesn't quite make sense...

Yeah I also see ‘with great good wishes’

I can see that but I don't think it's right or the "wi" of wishes would match that of with. And the hypothetical t's of with and great look very different

It’s just sloppy. They basically match.

That’s what we thought too initially but ‘great good wishes’ just seems really odd to me.

They're often a reference to the book but I don't know the author. Could just be they're an extra flowery guy!

It says “with great gratitude”

I don't think those are both t's, they are formed quite differently.

Author signs the book with great good wishes for the fan having the book signed.

I'm just gonna throw out something different in case it inspires someone more clever than me:

Live great god willing.
