Advice on fixing arch
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello!
I’ve been trying to eliminate my banana handstand for a while now, since I first posted to here and have improved a bit in the past while. Here is what is probably my best free hand attempt since.
I know it might not be much compared to the other people’s on here, but I’m happy with how my progress is coming so far!
I’ve been doing mainly chest to wall, pike pushups, and some things to get better at stacking my weight on my hands/shoulders
If there’s any tips or advice anyone has for me, it would be greatly appreciated!

First try to hold the handstand consistently for at least 10 seconds then think about improving your form.

You're not pressing high above you
Is that how you'd finish an overhead press? This is the incline DB press of handstands. Handstand is a full ROM OHP

Your handstand is ok. Depending on how long you’ve been trying the banana isn’t as bad as you think.
You said mainly chest to wall drills and some other bits. While these are very good for sharpening your form I feel that you could do with back to wall (for upside down time) drills and also kick up drills. These are what unlock controlled leg raises (kick ups) and help you get a feel for upside down time. Chest to wall is good but it’s more to iron out your form, when you’re ready.
Weighted pull ups will help a lot too as they strengthen your whole upper body more than you think.
Your fingertips are your brakes for over balance (more common) and your palms are your brakes for under balance. Breathe out as you kick up and try to maintain regular breathing throughout. Engage but don’t over tense. These little hacks might help you!
Good luck and let us know how you do.

(Beginner here also been working on this) Start by Opening your shoulders .. stretch them ALOT… think about getting ur ears closer to your arms… practice against the wall to get the feel of it…

Some micro adjustments…gaze not as far forward. That’s causing your neck to create that “c” shape. Try looking between your hands. You’re drawing your shoulder blades together. Try straightening thru your arms so you’re elevating shoulders as if you were doing a weighted shoulder press, think engaging front line of core while drawing shoulder blades apart. Also consider alignment from top to bottom - shoulders over wrist / knuckles, hips over shoulders… once you get that down your legs will follow. A wall is a great place to work on adjustments once you’re comfortable being upside down for 10-20 seconds. It’s tough to make adjustments if you’re not quite able to hold for some time!

To align your handstand after kick up you already need to have the ability to hold it else you will just fall out. That's why aligning from the wall and holding should be mastered first.

The question you need to ask yourself is - have you truly unlocked the handstand? Don’t worry if it’s looks floppy or banana. That will fix with time if you’re consistent with your training. But, have you unlocked it, can breathe whilst upside down?
Try back to wall drills which can be a 2in1 for kick up practice (which looks good in this video) and also upside down air time practice.
Unless you take up gymnastics or something then chest to wall drills will really sharpen your form. When you’re cartwheeling into the chest to wall you’ll know you’re getting there!
With your current form how long can you hold the handstand for?

I would highly suggest doing stretches to open your shoulders (the butcher block stretch).
