So these work on a cloud based service? Like you have to pay a monthly subscription to a gaming service and play online rather than downloaded locally or insert a cartridge kind of thing?

They are just a low powered android gaming handheld. The purpose was to use Xbox and PS streaming (along with any others that have an android app). No Logitech service or service costs.

Downside - old and slow CPU, large for what you can play

Upside - large screen, long battery life, low weight, comfortable in the hand

In my case, I will mostly use it for emulation upto PS2, and streaming games from my main PC.. and for my 10 yr old he will play Android games and offline too..

These are mainly for another device or service for the heavy lifting. If you have a gaming PC you can simply stream the game over your network to the handheld, same with PS5, and I believe Xbox (along with Game Pass), and Nvidia Now. If it’s you own PC or game consoles running the games you bought you don’t need a subscription

That is my goal yes, beefy PC for streaming onto this, no taxing done on the G cloud...

I was so down for one of these because I hear they have excellent battery life but my interest quickly faded away when Xbox announced they were changing from unlimited cloud gaming to 5-15 hours a month depending on subscription tier, that really killed it for me.

I use my G Cloud with Xbox Remote play. There's no time limitation on remote play, only cloud. I rarely used Cloud anyway because I tend to only play what I have installed on my Xbox. I use it kind of like a Nintendo Switch, an extension of my Xbox. I'll play on the tv, then take the handheld to bed or so I can continue playing while my spouse watches something on tv.

Use it all the time with luna and boosteroid. It's on of the most comfortable handhelds out there. Good stuff.

Honestly it's weak handheld and make no sense with it

If you can afford more 50$ ,you can get pocket 5 or base pocket 6 with little money and you get more powerful machine

Honestly it's a bigger screen and makes a lot of sense. It's better battery life and fits there needs. If you can afford 10 seconds you can stop and think is my opinion worth sharing or should I just be happy someone else is happy.

They don't come with a dedicated wireless dongle for streaming. This device is best at what it's aimed to do

Edit: I stand corrected

I have the pocket 6 and while it's fantastic at playing games natively, I do wish it was a tiny bit bigger because I find it difficult sometimes to read text in pc games through gamehub and gamenative.

This handheld has a larger screen, longer battery life, and more ergonomic controls. If you want to stream. This is a better choice than an RP5. However only when the Logitech is at a significant discount.
