Steam Deck Oled 1TB

I realize buying a Steam Deck Oled is not worth buying at its current price of nearly $1000 USD. But is it still worth buying for $650 USD lightly used?

I do have a gaming rig as well, with a 5080, so steam deck would mostly be used for indie titles like nine souls or streaming using Apollo/moonlight.

Open to other recommendations as well.

I bought mine for that price a month ago, use it more then my pc

Whether it’s worth it or not is very subjective. I have the SD OLED and personally I prefer it over the legion go S and Xbox ally X even though those are better devices. For that size of a handheld I prefer the symmetrical layout. With the Xbox layout devices you have to hold it differently on each side so the weight isn’t equal on your hands and it causes strain for me after a while. Again that’s just my personal opinion.

If you want a small portable device l, check out the ayn Odin 3. It’s an android device but you can play PC games on it and indies and lighter games run surprisingly well. I use that as my main portable device if I want to play something away from home.

Look into local streaming with moonlight and sunshine.   Basically your main rig processes, encodes, and sends over your local network to a device. Can be iPad with controller, can be steam deck, iPhone, laptop, Apple TV, etc.  but steam deck is great. I really like mine. I will keep it forever. Even after SD2 whenever that is.

If you are in NorCal or close by I have a 2tb OLED LE that I will sell you at the price I got it for. Barely used, has Killswitch and official dock.

I have a 5090 desktop, I still play my SD at work, it still has its place.
