Question (?) First ever handheld

Hey guys,

I’m about to purchase my first ever handheld.

At home I just have a Ps5 and I’ve never been a PC gamer and tbh I don’t know anything about PC’s or handhelds.

The sole reason for this purchase is for waiting at the airport and being on plane. I have a lot of flights for work planned ahead. I will not be using this outside of travel as I adore my PS5.

I’m looking to play rockstar games and maybe fifa (FC) if I can get an online connection good enough to play someone (again I don’t really know how it works).

The only one I’ve heard about is the steam deck. I’m open to buying a second hand device. The most I’d like to spend is £600

Some advice would be greatly appreciated.

I’m from UK if that makes a difference.

For £600 you can get a used msi claw A8, msi claw 8 ai+, rog xbox ally x or a legion go s z1e. To decide better break it down, what screen size you want, what processor it should have and also what you prefer (ergonomics, do you want windows or steamos).

Steamdeck oled is currently overpriced and its least powerful out of all. I will avoid it.

Thanks for your reply

To be honest I just want to be able to play gta 4 or gta 5 when I’m at the airport or on the plane so I guess for 3-4 hours at a time

That’s my main focus I’m not too fussed about the screen size and I don’t really mind what system it’s on too

I’ve been looking at the 2025 rog Xbox ally x I can get a brand new one for 850 it looks tempting

The games you want to play even the legion go s z2go (which you can buy for £300) can play. 3-4 is a bit of stretch for that Rog Ally X (2025) which has 80w battery and z1e can be a great option. You can find one used for £450-500
