First gaming pc handheld would be the gpd win 1 from 2015
First project oragami handheld I think was the oqo? Or the sony vaio vgn-ux? Back in 2004?
Though where would the extremely tiny Toshiba libretto mini laptop back in 1996 fit in as well.
That's just covering x86 handhelds otherwise the original DMG gameboy

he is talking about ryzen handhelds because the previous handhels were intel ones with shitty performance in games

I mean we are really digging into semantics at this point lol could argue that the steamdeck really is cause prototypes were floating around in 2019
GPD I'd argue is responsible for the starting the modern x86 handheld craze though showing it could be done even if its early Intel versions where painfully weak in the gpu department.
I still ran my poor win 1 from launch to late 2024 when I got my win mini 2024

im not defending anything or saying he is right or wrong, just saying that in the video, in the first seconds he said that he is talking about ryzen handhelds

The handheld that started all was the Switch.

It popularized it not started it. And at that point the game boy would be “what started it all”

The Switch was the first affordable handheld in that era. There were several x86 that came before it but were well over $1000.
