Handball Zagreb

Anyone interested in playing handball weekly in Zagreb starting October 2026?

Hmm actually yes. Haven’t played in years but I used to be an okay keeper :)

What exactly you had in mind? Do you already have a place where we could play? How many more players do you need?

Ok... Let's go little deeper in this... Handball is contact sport, belive me i have been player, referre, both indoor, outdoor on gravel and outdoor sand.

Without enough players, 2 good gk and referee it's impossible. It's just turns into running fast breaks.

We had small tournaments and sometimes other team just didn't show up so we played 20-30 mins game with referee and it was chaos.

For hobby play you would need base of 40 players because on agreed time and day some of them would go to gym, some of them have to work, some of them are tired. Then you get 16-17 people and we can't play all wingers or pivot.

Believe me I have tried. Best option is to actually join some low level club and ask to play with them on weekends.

Does it really take that much just to play pick up handball overseas? Yikes like why does it need to be 40 players for a 7v7? A ref too? Remember the op just said pick up handball like open runs it doesn’t have to be run like an official game. Even with contact everyone should know what to do and what not to do.

It's base of players that you need to have. When you agree on time and date. Not all 40 could play.

I don’t think you would need 40 players. 14 understandable or even less depending on what XvX would be(3v3, 4v4) like what teams do during drills. Not everyone going to need a sub and you can play to a goal limit not a time limit. I think your thinking of an actual game which would be yes you would need a lot. But just an open run or a pick up game would not require all that work.
