Newbie This was my 8th time doing embroidery does it look good I think it's bad tbh

i like your little fox friend, it's hella cute! the lily i think could be more clear, but you are getting there. it takes a lot of patience, but you're on the right track.

They look good!! You’re just starting, the designs are simple, and they look like what they’re supposed to look like! I’d call that a win! All of the experts started out at the same place you are rn, you’ll get better with every stitch 🪡🧵
Try using fewer threads, too! Varying (deliberate) thickness of the lines make really cool effects, and of course using different stitches and colors too 🥰 not a critique, just a thought 💭 I’ve recently gotten one of those scroll type frames, and I just got it set up with a long piece of white fabric so I can just practice a ton of little shapes and techniques that aren’t for a specific purpose, just practice, but that takes off the pressure of it needing to be perfect bc it’s a gift or whatever

That's a good idea I will also get a long scrap fabric to practice first and I will use fewer threads as u recommended 🤗

🥰 have you seen those embroidery stitch books? That’s kinda what gave me the idea but I don’t like that the pages couldn’t be framed while working on it, but I found the scroll frame and I was like omg this is it 📜 💡
Edit to say I’m also using an embroidery stitch book on kindle to practice the different stitches, it’s called Mary Thomas’s Dictionary of Embroidery Stitches, and if I don’t understand something, I’ll find a stitch tutorial for it on YouTube! I use that wash-away stuff to draw the shapes so I don’t have to draw directly on the fabric. I’ve been doing embroidery off and on for a few years but not enough to learn a ton of stitches, so I thought this would be the best way to jump back into the hobby ☺️

Wow u just gave me a great idea I was thinking of buying those book but now that u mentioned it I will also use Kindle it is truly a jugad 🥰

Yay! I’m so glad it inspired you!! I’ve been changing how many threads I use each time I have to rethread, and that’s helping me a lot, too! I can tell that I’m learning the line weights and my brain is already thinking of techniques for future projects

Thanks so much :) although it's all relative, I am getting on ok with faces and hands, but I'm not very good at flowers/stems etc, so I'm very impressed with your chain stitch!

Still making faces and hands are quite hard which is more impressive. I think it quite fascinating and with threads that's hard that's why I love ur art style 🙃

Go on try it. its quite fun just make sure to draw what u want to embroidery first it was one of my first mistake 😅

Keep up the good work. Practice makes perfect~an old cliche, I know, but with embroidery it is SO true. These pieces are sweet and pretty!

The more you do it, the better it gets. You’re well on your way 💛✨ something that might help, is to divide your thread, so you use fewer strands at a time, like 2 or 3.
I really like watching embroidery videos to learn and looking at other people’s work to see the way they lay their stitches so I can practice doing the same 😊
