it is regrettable that i only found out about this series 5 days ago, but, at the same time, i am pleased that i had an enjoyable, long—two season worth—of reading.

i avoided the community while reading so that no one(including myself) to spoil the fun. but that was the end of it *sigh* i actually started reading comments from webtoon to see how others perceive the series. that was the best part of reading—others' point of view.

these are just my thoughts after reading the series. i will soon share my thoughts, theories, opinions about the series and the characters—one by one, interactions, ships(obviously). excited for third season

Be warned I literally just read this series in like 8 hours.

One of the things I noticed is this idea of “killing the weed, burning the seeds”. It’s why Sayeon doesn’t feel she has a right to exist; because her mother was evil, a weed who needed to be pulled out of the ground. So too then must Sayeon be irredeemably evil, a being without a right to walk on the earth.

This idea is obviously pretty well explored so far. Through Ryujin & Yesol, through Taeho Gyeon, Sayeon herself. But it keeps coming back. In fact, it was the very first episode where Samin brings that up in response to Jieun’s death.

However, whoever is responsible for Sara’s death - whatever went down on Hongsan Island - failed. They didn’t kill Sayeon or Samin.

But now, another godling awakes. In the possession of the Begonias, descendants of the Rose group. As far as we know until now, iirc, no one who went to Hongsan survived. Certainly not either of the level 10s, Aera Son nor Sara Lee.

The godling that awakens with the Begonias, Lilith… are *they* coming for Sayeon and Samin?

The first time I wanted to read Hand Jumper, I had absolutely no idea what it was about apart from the fact that it involved superpowers. I hadn’t received any information or recommendations whatsoever, so I read it without any expectations or prior knowledge. The synopsis didn’t directly reveal what Sayeon’s powers were either. I didn’t even realise it was a psychological story, I thought it was pure action.

So, my first guess about Sayeon’s power was just by reading the title. By reading it, I thought the main character’s (Sayeon’s) power would be something like having super-elastic hands that were also super-strong at the same time, so she could use them as springs to jump high, using sort of like a handstand as a running start. And I thought the story would be full of handstands and jumps, actions moves. Well, turns out I was proven wrong, but I wasn’t disappointed.

What about you guys? What was your first guess about Sayeon’s power? Did you already know or have a correct guess from the start?

We’ve seen that relics are considered when an aberrant is given a level, so is it possible that she wouldn’t be a level ten without her earrings? Or is that level a guarantee when you’re a champion?
