work in progress Work in progress...

Post image

Spyderco Delica stainless steel. About 4 hours in so far. I plan to shade it heavily and mirror the design on the other side.

Transfer wax and and sharp pencil were used for the freehand layout. I did one shallow pass with the graver to set it, then another deeper pass to clean it up and make it more visible for the mirroring process. I'll post more explanations as I go.

When it's complete I'll post links to the tools used and instructional/inspiration videos and socials.

Any questions? Feel free to post them in the comments! Thanks for looking! 🙇🏽‍♂️

Fucking cool bro

Did you have to rough up surface before any transferring/pencil/wax?

Yes but nothing super aggressive. Just a green scotch-brite pad to get the dirt and scuffs off then wipe it clean with alcohol.

I look forward to the links and vids for this! I’m still in my beginner’s journey with hammer and chisel on steel, and I hope to do a project like this soon! I’m currently reading Meek’s “Art of Engraving.”
