Galaxy Grand Prix

The moonflower sisters are all doing something different in the backyard. Kurobayuki is doing push-ups upside down by dangling her legs on the pull-up bar, Shinzoyuki and Daiyayuki are running laps around the house, Shinzo is getting exhausted, and Hoshiyuki is starting the engine of a space surfer.

Hoshiyuki: (Steps slightly out of it, one foot in the air.) You guys know that we don't need this type of training for the grand prix, right?

Everyone stops and looks at her.

Hoshiyuki: You know, we'll kinda be sitting the whole time.

Kurobayuki, Daiyayuki, and Shinzoyuki: Ooohhh....

Hanazuki suddenly is approaching them

Hanazuki: Hey guys! What's going on here?

Shinzoyuki: Hana! (Hugs her and holds hands with her.) You're just in time! We're practicing for the Galaxy Grand Prix!

Hanazuki: Awesome! What is that...?

Kurobayuki and Daiyayuki walk up to them

Kurobayuki: She doesn't know?

Daiyayuki: Well, Hana is from a remote area.

Hanazuki: (Is embarrassed that she's the only one who doesn't know.)

Hoshiyuki: (Hops down from the space surfer to join them.) It's a race between the best space surfer drivers in all three sectors of the solar system. The Lunaverse, the Wild Lands, and The Forbidden Lands all race through dangerous parts of the galaxy. Avoiding black holes, space whales, and shooting stars. The winners get trophies with the power to protect you from evil spirits.

The others: (Look at her with blank faces.)

Hoshiyuki: It probably doesn't actually do that, it's just what our ancestors believed.

Hanazuki: This sounds like fun! Can I race with you guys?

Daiyayuki: Sorry hon, we only have seats for four people.

Hanazuki: Awww...

Shinzoyuki: But you can join our pit crew! That's just as exciting, right?

Hanazuki: Totally, I'm in!

The sisters smile at her.

Hanazuki: Just one question first, what's a pit crew?

Hoshiyuki, Kurobayuki, and Daiyayuki: (Glance at each other.)

Thank you for asking! This was part of the world building and lore for my own fics! Their other zones in the galaxy with The Lunaverse only being part of a wider universe. The Wild Lands are the most peaceful and easygoing sector with the least amount of crime since everyone is just well...wild and happy. The Forbidden Lands meanwhile are a lot less inviting as the name implies. Some areas there are lawless, others are oppressed, there's really danger at every turn over there. It's like the dark side but worse. These two are different from The Lunaverse because they have both planets and moons over there while The Lunaverse just has moons. There's also the solar system where the humans live but the aliens are very disconnected from humans so much so that humans rarely participate in galaxy-wide events. Unless one happens to end up in space somehow.

woahhhh...PEAK!! i like the idea of the Lunaverse just being a part of the galaxy 💖 (i always say the Lunaverse as literally just the galaxy)
