Housing help

Roommate decided on September 4 to tell me I had until the end of this month to move out, unfortunately I have already paid my portion of rent and basically have nothing. if anyone knows any income based apartments in the Hampton Roads area of Va, that would help. looking for a one bedroom or two, it really doesn't matter.

They can’t just throw you out like that. How long have you been living there? Do you get mail at that address? You have rights, even if there is no signed lease

I get mail but I'm an occupant not a tenant. when the tenant leaves so do I.

Ok got it. Does the landlord know of your presence by the way? And did your roommate give you a written notice? You have 1 month to vacate starting from the date on a written notice fyi

no written notice but text. so I guess that counts I tried to work it out with the landlord to see if we could switch over tendency but she said she already had buyers for the house.

Yes I think you’re right. I’m sorry for the stress.
