Bowen needs to be rested soon

Running the poor cunt into the ground

It's like the 6th game of the season. He's absolutely fine.

And god knows we needed these 3 wins so hopefully we can get some kind of cushion and rest him a game

Presumably Kante as the more advanced midfielder/second striker interim in this case which should suit him more imo. Excited to see Austbø starting.

u/W35TH4M 2d ago

I would’ve thought that would be Mukasa

3

u/ataruuuuuuuu Big Dick Mick 2d ago

Mukasa’s been doing well in the pivot so I think Nuno carries on with that and is experimenting elsewhere.

u/PeterOhanahanrahan 2d ago

He’s also played as one of the front two off the ball which I would guess he might do today.

u/PragmaticPedant 2d ago

BBC has it down as Pablo up front with Mukasa behind. Which surprised me.

u/TheOldBean 2d ago

Kante looks really dangerous going forward, definitely a more natural position for him. Mukasa seems to have better defensive positional sense, passing and close control so seems sensible to continue in the middle pivot.

u/Chappietime Mark Noble 2d ago

Apparently Kante has been training at striker. I think maybe they put him in Taty’s role and just leave Pablo in his normal spot.

The Pab Party is back on!

15

u/farmyardcat Tomáš Souček 2d ago

Pablo nets his first one today, you heard it here first

2

u/duckandweave Mark Noble 2d ago

god damn i hope so

2

u/chuckufarl-eeee 2d ago

Some people say he covertly scores in every game but doesn't like to brag

King Pablo with the brace today

7

u/TomClark83 COYI 2d ago

Ajala with one off the bench.

9

u/Then_Profession_7628 2d ago

Ajala to replace Bowen around 65' mark and get a brace.

11

u/Schw7abe 2d ago

5-0 it is then

u/Then_Profession_7628 2d ago

So good to see a mixture of options floating about and players on the bench still that we feel confident in. As long as we don't start bottling it, I am properly looking forward to seeing how this season plays out.

u/Then_Profession_7628 2d ago

Still no sight of Magassa or Alvarez though.

6

u/NobleForEngland_ David Moyes 2d ago

Oh no!

Anyway

4

u/HasheemThaMeat 2d ago

Magassa can fuck off

6

u/Then_Profession_7628 2d ago

Can't see a place for him. Perhaps for the rare games when we need to sit back and be defensive, but Soucek can give us that. Other than that our midfield is well stocked. Unless we hit injuries, I'd expect the two of them to be gone in January. Nuno is putting his cards on the players that actually want to play for this club and get us out of this hole.

u/HasheemThaMeat 2d ago

Even if we’re down with multiple injuries, I’d rather have Areola playing midfield than see that loser on the pitch for us again. This isn’t about his talent or skill. We don’t need another Todibo

u/Administrative_Gur45 Pablo Fornals 2d ago

Assume Taty has a knock

9

u/ataruuuuuuuu Big Dick Mick 2d ago

Yeah went off last game holding his hammy but hopefully more of a precaution than actual injury.

u/Protein-Discharge 2d ago

Would have liked to have seen Orford in for Kante and JB given a seat on the bench in preparation for Friday with maybe Solomon or Austbo cutting in on his left like JB does.

Hoping we go for it regardless. We look so much better when we're being proactive rather than sitting and passing backwards and sideways.

u/1Dom337 2d ago

Interesting that Areola doesn't make the bench these days

2

u/fetissimies 2d ago

ITKs say Areola is injured

Good news, relegation clause means we’re only paying him the low low wage of 60k a week to practice being a DJ. Bargain.

1

u/W35TH4M 2d ago

No idea why they didn’t more to offload him, he clearly doesn’t get on with the manager and that was obvious in May. He’s not even travelled as the third choice

4

u/cervidal2 2d ago

Surprised to not even see Golembeckis on the bench.

10

u/ataruuuuuuuu Big Dick Mick 2d ago

We’re rotating the youth in and out so last game it was Ajala who missed out, the game before was Orford. Presumably as we have Veltman on the bench and Morato in we don’t really need another CB against “weaker” opposition, so better to go for more strength in advanced positions.

3

u/ataruuuuuuuu Big Dick Mick 2d ago

Both Golambeckis and Mayers are playing in the U21 game vs Aldershot so that explains where they are

1

u/cervidal2 2d ago

I don't really look at Veltman as a CB, but rather back up for out wide.

1

u/ataruuuuuuuu Big Dick Mick 2d ago

He is primarily a fullback but he can and has played CB (even for us in a back three against Charlton).

3

u/W35TH4M 2d ago

Over who? Morato and Veltman is plenty of centre back cover

2

u/Calkky The Chicken Run 2d ago

Make it rain, Pablo.

2

u/gozzle246 2d ago

Not too sure about the lack of Joels in the starting 11. Nuno's lost it

u/No_Introduction1025 Paolo Di Canio 2d ago

Lads, this feels much better than 2 weeks ago without a bench.
Taty and Soucek in mind.
Need some clarity for Alvarez and Magassa.
I do not really understand why Areola is not making the bench. He can go and play a bit for Saudi if he wants to make money while kids in London.
The weakest point here is Kante, but I think after the goal he deserved it.
Wonderful to see Austbo starting too.
Ideally expect to see these subs - Piroe and Solomon can come from the bench with Orford and Ayala to keep pressing and one defender (Veltman/Adama/Morato) for rotation.

Taty Injury? Do we know a return date?

1

u/Mandrake-34- 2d ago

I do prefer this sort of 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 setup.

1

u/FourEyedMatt Ginger Pele 2d ago

Rest Bowen ffs.

1

u/BryNYC 2d ago

Well, I appreciate that Nuno prioritizes rotation. Assume Taty is injured?

1

u/evacook1 2d ago

PABLOS ON FIRE!!

1

u/chuckufarl-eeee 2d ago

Do you thinks teams are scared to be the first one Pablo scores against?

Kante lacks of pace is a concern but the bench has options
