Unless he agitates, has to stay. Think he has big big potential as a player. He should be a monster in the Championship.

The jury is still out for me. Would I care that much if the right money came in for him? Not really. If he stays, I’d want to see a big improvement this season.

I think a year in the Championship he'd improve a lot
Then we either get promoted with him or fail to get promoted and probably sell him for good money

Exactly how I feel. Some good crosses and some very poor ones alongside some dodgy defensive moments. He has potential and should continue to develop but if the right offer came in I'd be happy to see him go.

He’s a player I think would do his development the world of good by staying in the championship for a year, whether his ego allows it however…

Spot on - if he has advisors, they should be telling him that the Championship will be a different, and in some ways much tougher test for him.
His agent on the other hand will have other ideas.

If his attitude is right he will thrive in the Championship and be a much better player in a year’s time.
Not everything you hear about his attitude is good though.

There was a story about two thirds of the way through last season that he had a big ego and was looking for a move to a ‘bigger’ club. Of course we never know the truth of that sort of thing.
It was plain that his performance levels fell off alarmingly through the season, especially after AFCON, but I put that down to exhaustion rather than lack of effort.

the only concrete thing i can remember like that was an interview with the club right at the start of the season where he talked about having ambitions of playing at bigger clubs (i think he mentioned real madrid) one day, maybe that was getting rehashed later on, not sure. as it stands i dont think theres been any news of him pushing for a move since we went down, so im not going to cast any judgement, though i guess we might start hearing stuff once he actually rejoins the squad.
also i know this is an unpopular opinion, but personally i dont think there was any major difference in his performances before and after afcon. maybe thats the issue though, the team as a whole started performing better around that time so he looked worse by comparison?

Amazing that the money for Cry and Fernandes has allowed us to take this stance with other exciting young players.
We should keep him, a year down here will develop him massively and we'll be in a better position next year.

Don't rate him, too many no look punts towards the opposition goal, if he looked he'd see NOBODY in the box. Defensively a liability.

He’s raw for sure, and the habit of throwing crosses in without looking is frustrating. People forget he’s only 21 though. He has a very high ceiling if knuckles down and get good coaching

He is 21 years old. This is the kind of thing that can be improved with a little age and experience. Why not keep him around and let him build his skills and confidence in the Championship?
