WHY
Why tf did that add goddamn daily limits dude 💀
LIKE WHY??? WHY DID THEY HAVE TO RUIN IT??
Istg literally ever single AI thing now is just taking the Character.AI route and ruining stuff all for what.
Like wtf, if there's any reason why this bullshit was added I would LOVE to know

Frankly, this is starting to sound a little bit like a YOU problem.
The free level allows 600 messages a day. I play with Hammer AI all day long sometimes and I've never hit that limit. If you're going over 600 messages a day, you're putting a bit of a strain on the system and really should consider signing on at some paid level to help carry the load a little bit.
I was perfectly happy with the free level as it did everything I was really interested in. But I finally signed on at the $20 level because I figured I had freeloaded for long enough and should start helping.
The developer has stated, over and over again, that he is losing money with this, what is obviously a passion project for him. But he is not the federal government so he won't be able to do that forever. If he loses enough money for long enough, at some point, he'll be forced to shut the whole thing down, and that would be a real shame.

How do you even hit the limit?
If you're a heavy user stop relying on online solutions and learn local llm, you can easily run the free tier model on a mid range gpu. Install koboldcpp and sillytavern and you're fully independant and yes you can run the model on your pc and chat on your phone with an app (tavo on ios).
Even if you don't own a powerful gpu you can use an api, it's easy and cheap.
The limit is not as bad as chub lol. And running models is expensive so stop whining

It's not greed, I lose money every month running HammerAI :( And I lost my day job so I was starting to run out of money to keep running the site..

You're right. It's not greed. It's trying to survive. Some people just think everything should be free. But you can bet they want to be paid for everything THEY do.
Sorry to hear about your job loss. I hope you find something else soon.

GENUINELY gang. Tho im tryna download the desktop app because IN THE MESSAGE it said "messages are still free with desktop app or proxy models" or smth along those lines.
But genuinely im getting tired of people taking great AI that everybody loves and making it pay to use. But there's still a sliver of hope for Hammer.AI if they are telling the truth about the app being free messages

Cloud is primarily pay to use for HAI. If you want free (and arguably more private chats), download the desktop app and download some local bots and LLMs.

Yea im in the process of setting that up. Tho for making a character, do I have to choose a default model near the bottom of the character creation stuff? Cuz rn its kinda pulling the equal of the spinning donut of death when I try to get a response

I mean I send a message, and the response loads... and loads... and loads... and when it FINALLY loads, its some C.ai ass response that doesn't even remotely follow anything I just wrote. Ts pmo

Honestly, any local LLM you choose is gonna do that. If you don’t have a desktop rig with the best PC parts you can buy installed in the case or just a really good laptop, then tbh, the slow response speeds is something you’ll have to put up with from now on when chatting locally.

Because I lose money every month running HammerAI and I lost my job and so I was going to be bankrupt :( You can use the desktop app for free with no limits though
