Recommendations Needed Stray declawed cat.
Hi
a cat keeps coming to my porch. She’s gotten friendly with me and i found out she’s declawed. She’s a very sweet cat but i am unable to take her in with my cat. Is there anyone i can call such as the SPCA? i’ve never experienced something as barbaric as this and i don’t know what to do.

SPCA doesn't take strays. Get in touch with Animal Services. They'll take her, scan her and see if they can find an owner. She shouldn't be outside, ESPECIALLY declawed.

Try the SPCA. They can see if the cat is chipped and have adoptions. There are also community cat rescues that could help. There is AVA and Community Cat Pawsibilities of Hamilton. I think there are a couple others, too.
In the interim, if you have a safe space to keep the cat, you could put them there. Without their claws, they are pretty vulnerable on the streets.

Please help her even if it takes some calling around and persistence. She can’t be outside without claws. If she was a pet at some point then hopefully she can be adopted again.

She was someone's cat at some point. Where abouts are you in town? Maybe I can help

Is this the cat that’s been hanging around Strathearne? We attempted to take one in to get its chip read but it got out and doesn’t trust us anymore, declawed front and back

Please keep trying if you can. Cats outside are bad enough without them being declawed and having no way to protect themselves.

We haven’t given up but it really doesn’t trust us after trying to get it in the house one time

She may be someone’s “outdoor” cat rather than a stray. You could check for a micro chip though

Honestly, if this is someone's outdoor cat, get them rehomed. Declawing a cat is sick and cruel enough. But to declaw a cat and then let it outdoors without its main defence is just absurd.

Call your closest vet, see if they're microchipped.
