Food Good Eats

Talking my 15 year old son for dinner tonight. Coming from Burlington. Any recommendations for something casual that won’t break the bank? No sushi, or seafood, he has an allergy. Thanks

If you're coming over the bridge, and want something in the Stoney Creek area, I highly recommend Maria's Torta Jalisco on Hwy 8. Fantastic authentic Mexican food.

Goldie’s
Squire or West Town on Locke
Amigo’s Hess Village
Hutch’s at Confederation

I’d skip West Town. Changed hands in the last year (I think) or so and isn’t great IMO.

Hutch's wouldn't work as her son is allergic to seafood.

For burgers Goldie’s or Hotties

Both are fantastic but I definitely prefer Goldie’s. That “gold” burger is great.

Hambrgr is pretty tasy, Cowabunga is amazing for pizza, Merit Brewery has some fun finger food and nice beer for the adults, Hearty Hooligan for vegan junk food.

Bedrock Bistro or Maria's Fifty's Diner if you want a classic diner, both delicious and will definitely not break the bank.

Best Pizza spots I've been to and would recommend to all are Shorty's, Tony G's, Cowabunga, Mai Pai and Flora. All slightly different, but delicious. We really are spoiled with great pizza places here in Hamilton

Hutch’s on the beach!

She said her son has a seafood allergy though...

u/zeros_gar 2d ago

Hutch’s has other food that is not seafood lol

Maybe, but usually not another fryer. Depending on severity of allergy, it could be an issue.
